How to Change the Date & Time Stamp on Photos on iPhone in iOS 15

Your iPhone photos automatically include timestamps (and locations, if you have Location Services turned on).  But what if you need to manually change the date or location on an iPhone photo? In this article, we'll show you how to change the timestamp on iPhone photos and alter the location as well.

How to Change Date on iPhone Photo

Perhaps because of some glitch one or more of your iPhone photos is labeled with the incorrect date and time. Or maybe you just want to organize certain photos under one date, even if you took them at different times. Here's how to change the date for your iPhone photos. You will need to have iOS 15 or iPadOS 15 installed on your device to do do this. Here's how to do it for just one photo:

  1. Open the Photos app.

    Photos
     
  2. Select the photo you'd like to edit.

    Select photo
     
  3. Tap the details icon.

  4. Tap Adjust.

  5. Select the new date in the popup window.

  6. You can also select a new time if needed or change the time zone.

  7. When you're done, tap Adjust.

  8. You'll be returned to the previous screen. Tap the info icon again to return to Photos.

Change the Date on Multiple Photos at Once

If you have multiple photos you'd like to change the date on, you can do that, too:

  1. Open the Photos app.

  2. Tap Select.

  3. Select the photos you want to alter.

  4. Tap the Share icon.

  5. Swipe up to scroll down.

  6. Select Adjust Date & Time.

  7. Select the new date, time, and time zone.

  8. Tap Adjust to confirm.

How to Change Location on Photos

If you've been through the process of changing the timestamp on your iPhone photos, you may have already noticed that there is also an option to change the photo's assigned location. We'll go over how to do this for a single photo and multiple photos below.

Change the Location on a Single iPhone Photo

If you want to change a photo's location for any reason, here's how:

  1. Open Photos.

    Photos
     
  2. Tap the photo you'd like to edit.

    Select photo
     
  3. Tap the details icon.

  4. Tap Adjust by the map in the photo's details.

  5. Search for and select the new location you'd like to assign to the photo. You can also select No Location.

  6. The new location will be displayed in the details screen. Tap the details icon to return to your Library.

Change the Location on Multiple Photos at Once

Here's how to change the location for multiple photos:

  1. Open the Photos app.

  2. Tap Select.

  3. Select the photos you want to alter.

  4. Tap the Share icon.

  5. Swipe up to scroll down.

  6. Select Adjust Location.

  7. Search for and assign a new location or select No Location.

There you have it! Now you can change the timestamp on photos in your iPhone as well as change the location if necessary.
