There are two kinds of people: those who keep their apps in folders and those who don’t. Personally, I keep 90 percent of my apps in folders and the rest on my Home screen. You probably know that to make folders on an iPhone, you drag app icons together, and a folder is automatically created. But maybe you're wondering how to organize and delete folders from your iPhone so you can move and rearrange your apps. Let’s get started learning how to delete folders from your iPhone so you can change your Home screen layout and reorganize your apps.
It’s easy to delete an app folder from your iPhone, and it doesn’t take long (unless you have seemingly endless apps in one folder!) To delete your folder of apps, you'll need to remove the apps from the folder.
- Tap and hold the folder you'd like to delete.
- Tap Remove Folder.
Tap Remove from Home Screen. - The apps that were in the folder will be moved to your App Library.
Voila! Your unwanted app folder automatically disappears. You can always reassemble your folder later if you change your mind.
Deleting files and folders from your iPhone and iPad mobile device
When you delete files or folders, the data will be sent to your Deleted Files folder. This will also remove them from any devices to which they are syncing.
You cannot use your mobile device to delete top-level or root folders. You can only delete subfolders and individual files. To delete a top-level folder, you must use the SugarSync Web App or Desktop App.
Note: When you permanently delete files or folders entirely, they are gone forever. You cannot recover them. A deletion simply moves the file or folder into your Deleted Files folder. You can then permanently delete or restore the data from this location.
If you want remove items from your mobile device only, but keep a copy on your account, you can simply un-sync them.
To delete a file or subfolder from your mobile device:
- From the main menu, tap . Then navigate to the file or folder you want to delete.
- Once you have located the item you want to permanently delete, swipe your finger to the left.
- This will select the object, and allow you to muti-select, if you wish, by tapping the circles to the right of other items.
- Tap to select the circle next to each item you want to delete. A circle fills in with a check mark to indicate you've selected it.
- On the bottom menu bar, tap Delete then confirm.
